QUALIFI Level 5 Extended Diploma in Networking and Cyber Security
Overview
The aim of the QUALIFI Level 5 Extended Diploma in Networking and Cyber Security is to provide learners with an extended range of understanding of networking and cybersecurity.
The units for this qualification have been taken from existing Qualifi qualifications:
- Qualifi Level 4 Diploma in Cyber Security (603/3331/5)
- Qualifi Level 4 Diploma in IT – Networking (603/4782/X)
- Qualifi Level 5 Diploma in Cyber Security (603/4139/7)
- Qualifi Level 5 Diploma in IT – Networking (603/4792/2)
It is envisaged that learners who successfully complete these qualifications will have gained a
broader understanding of cyber security and how to implement networking systems to
remove any such risks.
Successful completion of the QUALIFI Level 5 Extended Diploma in Networking and Cyber
Security provides learners with the opportunity to progress to further study or employment.
Entry requirements
These qualifications are designed for learners who are typically aged 16 and above.
The entry profile for learners is likely to include at least one of the following:
- Relevant Level 4 Diploma qualification or equivalent qualification
- GCE Advanced level in 2 subjects or equivalent qualification
- O/L with 6 passes + Credit Pass for English

Qualification structure
The QUALIFI Level 5 Extended Diploma in Networking and Cyber Security qualification consists of 11 mandatory units, 240 credits, 2400 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT) and the recommended Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for this qualification is a minimum of 1200 hours.

- Security Strategy: Laws, Policies and Implementation
- Physical IT Networking
- Cryptography
- Digital Investigations and Forensics

- Network Routing and Switching
- Network Design and Administration
Duration and delivery
- The qualification is designed to be delivered over two academic years for full-time study but it is also flexible in its delivery in order to accommodate part-time. The qualification is delivered face-to-face, through lectures, tutorials.
Progressions
Successful completion of the QUALIFI Level 5 Extended Diploma in Networking and Cyber Security qualification provides learners the opportunity for a wide range of academic progressions.
As this qualification is approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation), learners may be eligible to gain direct entry into Year 3 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programme.
