QUALIFI Level 5 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care

Overview

The Qualification has been created to develop and reward the business health and social care workers of today and the future, and to continue to bring recognition and professionalism to the health and social care sector. The rationale of the programmes is to provide a career path for learners who wish to develop their management and care capabilities within the health and social care sector.

Entry requirements

These qualifications are designed for learners who are typically aged 16 and above.

The entry profile for learners is likely to include at least one of the following:

  • Relevant Level 4 Diploma qualification or equivalent qualification
Qualification structure
  • The QUALIFI Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care qualification consists of 5 mandatory units, 120 credits, 1200 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT) and the recommended Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for this qualification is a minimum of 600 hours.

Duration and delivery
  • The qualification is designed to be delivered over two academic years for full-time study but it is also flexible in its delivery in order to accommodate part-time. The qualification is delivered face-to-face, through lectures, tutorials.
Progressions

Successful completion of the QUALIFI Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care qualification provides learners the opportunity for a wide range of academic progressions. 

As this qualification is approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation), learners may be eligible to gain direct entry into Year 3 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programme.
